By BRIDGE (other events)

Thursday, August 25 2016 6:30 PM 8:30 PM

Build your practice and your community at the same time while listening to your favorite hip hop tunes, spun by DJ SYLO.

Join us at James Oliver Gallery (723 Chestnut Street in Philadelphia) on August 25th for a hip hop flow and the last of our three-part series. It's gonna be a good one!

Lisa Nwankwo and Danielle Mancinelli, both certified RYT yoga instructors, will lead the group in a sixty-minute yoga flow, with DJ Sylo spinning your favorite feel good hip-hop beats. Juices and healthy treats will follow.

All proceeds from the classes with benefit BRIDGE, a school-based yoga and narrative writing program serving the Philadelphia community.

BRIDGE uses the fundamentals of yoga and narrative writing to cultivate self-discovery, engagement, and empowerment in students 1-12 and the communities that surround them. BRIDGE has a unique yoga, communication, and cultural literacy curriculum that combines character development, yoga, meditation, writing, and community building to bring important voices into the local and global conversation. Programs include in-school workshops and after-school classes, with supplementary or stand-alone professional development training courses for educators, parent and caregiver workshops, and comprehensive special event seminars.
